Travian Loop: Daily Quests and Rewards

We have received interesting feedback from you in regards to the daily quests and their rewards. We would like to thank you for your active participation on the subject. We will answer briefly the points you made and hopefully not disappoint you (too much!) as the direction of your feedback, on this very topic, varies a lot from ours. However we would like to propose to you a global suggestion to improve the daily quest and their rewards and we would be thrilled to hear what you have to say about it.

Here is what was gathered:

➡️ Some quests should evolve as the account develops:

  •   Make celebrations 3x:
  •   Increase the number to do according to the pop
  •   Produce 20 infantry 3x:
  •   Increase the number to do according to the pop
  •   Produce 20 cavalry 3x :
  •   Increase the number to do according to the pop

⬅️ We believe that altering the quests by matching them with the account level/growth will open the door to high-end optimal strategies leading to the quest fulfilment by tampering with the requirements. The discrepancies between accounts and the different quests proposed in function, would be creating a gap between players more than it would cater to individual accounts.

➡️ Some quests should be removed or changed:

  •    Remove “Earn/Spend Gold, 3x”: Non-gold players are at a disadvantage.
  •   Change “Win an auction” into “Participate in an auction”: This prevents non-gold players from not being able to follow. This also avoids those who do not gold much to force themselves to buy tables of the law just to have the quest.

 The others are not to be touched.

⬅️ It is true that the game proposes advantages for using gold. Trying to conceal this fact wouldn’t be fair as it isn’t true. However, what is important to note here and what we take pride in, is that we can say aloud that there are advantages to using gold, because these advantages are designed to never ensure winning to those who benefit from them.

➡️ Some quests rewards should also evolve as the account develops:

  •   25%, 50% are very good.
  •   75% : change useless rewards by a troop reward (X off infantry, X def infantry, X cavalry, X spies)
  • All rewards should be evolving according to the account population

⬅️ From experience and gathered feedback, we came to conclusion that, usually, players are very sensitive about which troops they have in their respective villages. From the feedback about troop adventures in particular, we’ve learned that giving troops as a reward in general is probably not a welcome option.

➡️ Last block of suggestions and feedback

  •   100% : useless rewards once the server is advanced
  •   400 PC becomes scalable according to the account population
  •   400 Xp becomes scalable according to the level of the hero
  •   4k of each becomes 20k in each bonus
  •   Scalable according to alliance population
  •   20k of a resource becomes: all the bonus put by the player will be x2

➡️ While the same applies to scalable objectives with the account level (as we detailed above), the suggestion for donation to alliance bonuses is definitely of interest to us. This is something for us to think about and consider for a rework of the feature.

🔁 Conclusion: 

As we said in the introduction of this (thread/message/discussion, pick which applies), we would like to hear your thoughts on something that does seem to make sense as it is somewhat adaptable while not triggering undesirable mechanics or creating unbalance.

It is about daily quests that would “reset” on a frequency depending on the server speed. E.g. a x10 server would propose for the quest a window of not 24h anymore, but 4, or 6h. Same would apply to x2, 3 and 5, we would try to match the timeframe of the quests to the overall conditions of the server, to keep it meaningful and challenging alike. What do you think?
