Meet the Team: Nikola, Community Manager

Welcome to another edition of Meet the Team! In this edition, we meet Nikola, our Community Manager and CSR for Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia. Guess what? He has been playing Travian: Legends for over 10 years! Enjoy!

Hi Nikola, thank you very much for letting us interview you! Let’s start with the usual questions, where are you from and for how long have you been working for Travian Games?

Hi! I’m from Belgrade, Serbia (yes, not a cold place called Siberia how people often think). I have been working as community manager since March 2009, but I joined the Travian team as Multihunter at the beginning of 2007.

How did you discover Travian: Legends?

I discovered it back in the summer of 2006. I was looking for an alternative for an hardware demanding multiplayer game like WoW… and I accidentally discovered a browser game called “Travian” and joined the first T3 speed server. Yes, the suffix Legends came much later for those of you who don’t know.

What kind of player are you?

Travian is a war game, so it’s all about friends, crop and off points. In 2006, there were neither artefacts nor world wonders on the T3 servers, so I learned and I still like to play aggressively in the beginning, as that’s the time when we are making allies and enemies in the neighborhood.

What do you like the most about being a CM?

The best part of being a community manager is really being part of a community and allow its voice to be heard by the Travian Games HQ. Every single happy player and his/her smiley emojis make my day.

Can you share a particular highlight for you during your role as a CM for Travian?

It’s hard to pick one particular highlight… but maybe the most interesting one was when I was chosen to be the community manager for Serbia while I was a Multihunter in another domain. My community manager was mad and angry at first, as all good Multihunters were going away to be local community managers. A lot of new Travian domains started around that time.

Lastly, what’s the funniest thing you have read on the forums?

There were a lot of funny moments on the forums, but the most interesting ones were discussions about April Fools day jokes. Let’s just say that some of us took it way too seriously, but I cannot reveal more.

Thank you all for reading our interview with Nikola, we hope you enjoyed it. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments below! Until next time, happy raiding!
