Legends on Tour: Meet slow ciliatus
She used to play under the name ‘promter’ but now is better known as slow ciliatus, if you played the tournament round you probably know that she was the coordinator of the Russia team on last year’s tournament. Meet slow ciliatus, A.K.A Ekaterina from Russia!
For the readers who don’t know you, can you tell us a little bit about yourself, and for how long you’ve been playing Travian?
My name is Ekaterina, I’m Russian, although for the last 11 years I live in Germany. I’ve been playing Travian since December 2008, so, soon it will be 10 years. I played mostly under the nick promter.
Since 2014 I play almost exclusively tournament servers. During those, I was a leader within different alliances and different coalitions, including TL, DI, QuT. Last finals I played as one of the coordinators in BAD (part of Ru-team).
What is it about Travian that has made it more than a game to you? What makes it so special?
Can’t really define precisely what’s so special about this game, but something definitely is. It’s both simple and complicated at the same time. It’s not only pixels you’re looking at, it’s the whole world behind them. It is very addictive too.
What is one of your favorite memories playing Travian?
Hard to say. I guess the most favorite ones are those with the first achievements. First medal, first WW, first time 4 waves within a second in T4 :D. If to step slightly out of playing itself, I’d say that meeting players in real life last year was something to remember for me.
What are you looking forward to most about the upcoming Legends on Tour event?
I guess the most obvious answer for me would be to meet people who are behind the scene, the TG developers and managers. It’s not only the questions and the problems of the game which I’d like to discuss. But also a sheer curiosity to see real faces of the virtual world, which has been addictive for me for so many years.
Thank you for reading our short interview with slow ciliatus. If you have any questions or would like to contact her, you can send her a message on the forums.
That wraps up the player interview for this week. Next Monday we interview Rinobit from Italy an 8-year veteran Travian player. Have a great weekend and see you next week!
