Tea@Three: Simon

Here is now our second edition of our weekly player tea at three. Today we  introduce Simon from Germany. He gets a chieftain statue as well for his work in the german forum and his tools.
Congratulations Simon!

What is your name/nickname and how old are you?
My real name is Simon but on the german forum i´m known as Be2-e4 and i´m 17 years old.

Are you still in school, a student or working already?
I´m a student at an high school and i´m working as programer sideline.

Where are you from or where do you live now?
I was born in Nürnberg but i´m living in the Fürther county.

For how long have you been playing Travian? Is there a favorite server that you prefer to play?
That´s a good question. My getter-tools account exists since April 2009 but i´ve played Travian a little longer. I think it was 2008 +/- some months.

Do you play a solo account or do you have a team you’re playing together with? (short report about duals)
At the moment i´m playing alone. On former servers i played alone as well but on both international T3.6 speed servers (3x and 8x) i had some duals.

Do you have a favorite tribe that you always play with?
For my tests for the tools i choose the gauls because of their high cranny capacity. But when i play normal i do not have a favorite tribe. It depends on what kind of goal i have and my alignment if offensive or defensive. As a private deffer / solo account mostly romans (villages near each other, low runtime and fast village development). As a defensive accountly mostly gauls cause the defensive troops are faster than the roman ones. When i play as an offensive player normally teutons cause of the ( off/time ratio).

Is your game offensive or defensive-based?
It depends on my mood. On the 8x classic server i played a deffensive-based account but on the 3x classic i started as a deffensive-based teuton but switched to an offensive one.

How much time do you play Travian on a normal day?
I have no idea… Normally it´s open ally time on a second monitor or i look at it every few minutes like now ( during completing the questionnaire i looked at it already 4-5 times) and build fields or troops or sent ressources.
Additionally i program the travian tools. I can´t tell exactly how much time i spent with Travian but it think it´s quite a huge amount.

8. Do you play other games apart from Travian?
No other browsergames, some Pc games, and in real life it depend on with whom skat or chess.

10. Which external tools do you use for Travian? (short explanation as to why)
Getter-tools (plan to send defensive troops, offensive plan, chiefing, …)
Binary-tools (some useful tools, would be wired if i didn´t use my own tool :D)
Kirilloid (best fight simulator i know of … the fight simulator of travian can´t even calculate the easiest battles!)

11. What is the biggest challenge in Travian for you?
To stay motivated to build new villages and to make the source codes automatic legible ( for the parser on the tool side).

12. What’s the most fun for you in-game?
Look at some awesome reports and to understand the maths behind Travian.

13. What do you think about the changes to Travian and why do you think that?
I cannot say much about Travian 5, because i think there are still some changes which will be announced and because i could´nt play it. That´s a must have to give an opinion. I think as well to see some changes in praxis to see how they exactly work.
Regarding T4… i think the t3.6 design is much more better. But thats probably because of my personal preference. In all objectivity T4 has a higher loading time than T3.6. Regarding the playing technique are the unusable fields on the map useless. My main capital is surrounded by them on the qualification server. Regarding the hero items i think the shoes are the best, second the artwork (free gold). 😛

14. Are you active on the Travian forum?
Yes as told earlier Be2-e4 account.

15. Something you always wanted to share with the community:
All the Travian formulas and the whole maths behind Travian.
